Our 4 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakesh. Desert. Fez Founded in the 9th century, Fez reached its height in the 13th–14th centuries under the Marinids, when it replaced Marrakesh as the capital of the kingdom. The urban fabric and the principal monuments in the medina – madrasas, fondouks, palaces, residences, mosques and fountains - date from this period. Although the political capital of Morocco was transferred to Rabat in 1912, Fez has retained its status as the country's cultural and spiritual centre.
Day 1 : Fes to Merzouga via Ifrane Midelt and Atlas Mountains-Erfoud-Rissani- Merzouga
Leaving Fez and drive to Merzouga by passing over Middle Atlas Mountains. Along this route we will pass through Ifran city where you will see the sculpture of a lion in a park. Afterwards, we will continue our driving to Azrou forest is famous for its aromatic cedar forest and stop to see wild Barbary macaque monkeys. Your day continues to Midelt where we will break for lunch and after, we will cross Tizi N’talghomt pass and Ziz Gorge. Thereafter, we will journey along Ziz Valley, passing a series of fortified Berber villages along Ziz River. We will then pass over Erfoud city, before getting to Merzouga. We will then camel trek to Berber tents in the middle dunes where you will live a nomadic life for one night.
Day 2 : Merzouga - Ouzina Village
After your night in camp, the camel man will wake you up early so you can see the sunrise and afterwards the camel man will bring you back to your hotel. Thereafter, you can shower and have breakfast before we travel to the rural village of Ouzina located deep in the desert. In this village you will have the chance to visit rural people and red Hamada Mountains which are rich in fossils and sharp teeth of dinosaurs and unique from other places you have visited.
Day 3 : Ouzina Village - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley- Dades Gorge
After breakfast in riad in Ouzina Village, we will drive off-road in the desert towards Alnif Village and pass through more Berber villages, oases with palm trees and here the houses are built from mud. When we arrive in Alnif we will break for a beverage then continue on the road and cross the High Atlas Mountains to see Toudgha Gorge where the water runs in Toudgha River, and where you will see falls of palm trees, fig trees and almond trees. After the visit of Toudgha Gorge we will follow our route to Dades Valley, and we will turn towards Dades Gorge so we can see along this valley Gorge the ruins of ancient Kasbahs and strange rocks which called (“Monkey’s Toes”). At night you will dine in a hotel in Gorge Dades.
Day 4 : Dades Gorge - Skoura - Ouarzazate- Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Marrakech
The last day of the tour will start from Gorge Dades. After breakfast in hotel we will drive to Ouarzazate and pass through Skoura oasis with its authentic Kasbahs. Then we will visit Ouarzazate which is known as the “Hollywood of Desert” and of Morocco generally. Ouarzazate is a province of Souss-Mass-Draa in southern-central Morocco. Whilst sightseeing in Ouarzazate you will see a Taourirt Kasbah which was the Kasbah of former Caid Thami El Glaoui and many movies have been filmed here at the Atlas Studios. After Ouarzazate we will drive to the fortified village and Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where many movies have been filmed and which is under UNESCO World Heritage Site. While finish the visit of the kasbah we drive to Marrakesh by crossing Tizi Ntichka in the High Atlas Mountains. And will enter Marrakech around 6 or 7 PM.
